The Long Beach Police Department in conjunction with members of the Lifeguard Patrol conducted a training session on Tuesday, July 1st 2014. Lifeguard Patrol Supervisor John Skudin instructed Police personnel on basic lifesaving techniques while the Police instructors reinforced Police procedures as related to Beach Emergencies.  “The Long Beach Police Department and the Long Beach Lifeguard Patrol work hand-in-hand to keep our residents, visitors and City safe,” said City Council President Scott J. Mandel. “Heading into the July 4th weekend, on behalf of the City Council, I would just like to remind everyone heading to the beach to always swim near a lifeguard.”
