Please be vigilant when using any type of credit or debit card at ATM locations. 

   It has come to the attention of the Long Beach PoliceDepartment that there is an increase of incidents involving Credit/Debit card informationbeing stolen thru skimming devices.  

 These are some of the precautions that the publicshould follow: 
      · Do not use an ATMthat appears unusual or appears to be altered and notify the institution.
      · Safeguard yourPersonal Identification Number (PIN), including being aware of anyone in the vicinityand covering pad when entering PIN.
      · Closely monitoryour bank statements as well as your balances and immediately report anyproblems to your institution. 

   This information is being provided to residents tomake them aware of these ongoing scams.  Ifyou believe you may have been a victim of any of these scams, please call 911immediately. 

   Anyonewith information that could lead to the arrest of the individual(s) responsibleare asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477) or theLong Beach Police Department at 516-431-1800. All calls remain anonymous.
